✈️ Cathay Pacific Doubles Down on Brisbane & Perth Flights
Share
Cathay Pacific is turning up the dial on Australian routes—big time.
Starting October 26, 2025, frequent flyers and savvy travellers in Brisbane and Perth can expect double-daily flights to Hong Kong, giving you more flexibility, better connections, and—let’s be real—a higher chance of snagging that perfect seat in business class.
🔁 More Flights, More Freedom
Cathay’s updated schedule will see:
-
Brisbane flights increasing from 12 to 14 per week
-
Perth flights jumping from 11 to 14 per week
And the best part? This isn’t just a seasonal boost—it’s a permanent expansion.
That means year-round access to 14 weekly flights from each city, making Cathay a serious player for anyone flying between Australia, Asia, and beyond.
According to Frosti Lau, Cathay’s Regional GM for Southwest Pacific, every new flight opens “more doors” for both passengers and freight. No surprise there—Cathay Pacific is a critical link between Australia, China, Japan, Europe, and North America.
Over the busy summer season, Cathay will be operating more than 80 flights weekly from Australia, including the return of popular seasonal routes from Cairns and Adelaide.
💺 Comfort That Travels Well
Most of these upgraded services will be run on the Airbus A350, Cathay’s ultra-efficient long-haul workhorse that delivers serious comfort in both business and economy class.
The A350 cabin is a favourite for its:
-
Quieter inflight experience
-
Improved humidity and pressure for reduced jet lag
-
Modern business class cabins with lie-flat seats, large entertainment screens, and better sleep quality
📶 Business Class Gets Even Better
From August 2025, free inflight Wi-Fi will be available for all business class passengers and Cathay Diamond members. So whether you're working at 30,000 feet or posting champagne selfies, you’ll stay connected the entire way.
On the ground, new Cathay lounges in Beijing and New York are set to open with the same warm, elegant vibes seen in the brand’s standout lounges in Hong Kong, London, Vancouver, and across Asia. Designed by UK interiors icon Ilse Crawford, they’re like five-star hotel lobbies—with noodle bars.
