Qantas Opens New Business Lounge in Adelaide—Here’s What to Expect
Share
After years of waiting, Qantas has finally unveiled its brand-new Adelaide Business Lounge—its first major domestic lounge upgrade since Melbourne back in 2018. And if you're a business class traveller or a Qantas Platinum frequent flyer, this space is built with you in mind.
This isn’t just a refresh—it’s a complete rethink of the business lounge experience. Designed to reflect the spirit of South Australia, the Qantas Adelaide Business Lounge pulls inspiration from iconic local landmarks like the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, the Central Market, and Kangaroo Island. Think natural materials, earthy tones, and a layout that feels more boutique hotel than airport terminal.
Local Flavour on the Menu
The standout feature? A Market Kitchen concept (set to launch mid-2025), which brings the Adelaide Central Market vibe right into the terminal. Expect regional food and wine, with a nod to local favourites—including the iconic pie floater. Yes, a meat pie in pea soup at 30,000 feet might sound odd, but this is a lounge meal worth bragging about.
Celebrity chefs Maggie Beer and Neil Perry are also involved, giving the food scene some serious star power.
Business Traveller Essentials
There’s space for around 200 guests, with 80% of seats offering USB, AC and wireless charging access—because no one wants to battle over a power point while syncing emails before takeoff.
And unlike the generic lounge clones of the past, this space actually feels like Adelaide. It’s part of Qantas’ new strategy to bring more personality and place into its lounge design.
Looking Ahead
Qantas has also announced the return of international flights from Adelaide, starting with seasonal Auckland flights from October 2025. And word is, the Adelaide–Singapore route is in the running once the new Airbus A321XLR jets are online.
If you're a Qantas Points collector, business traveller, or just love a premium pre-flight experience, the new Qantas Adelaide Business Lounge sets the tone for what’s ahead.
